Heritage sites unlocked
The province of Vlaams-Brabant is home to a large number of well-known heritage sites and a few hidden gems. To emphasize the diversity of its attractions and showcase them to potential visitors and tourists, the provincial authorities went looking for an innovative approach that would reach the widest possible audience. The solution? A virtual environment with 360-degree images of the main sights in the region – all accessible from the comfort of one’s own home.
Building a budget-friendly showcase platform
The local government chose Poppr to implement a virtual tour of its most interesting heritage sites. A particular request was the incorporation of available images that had been taken for an earlier, EU-funded project on cycling routes. This way, additional spending of public funds would be kept to a minimum.
Cost-efficient and ready to go
Using the available footage and additional 360-degree images, Poppr built and designed the Virtueel Vlaams-Brabant environment, accessible on any device. Locations that are otherwise inaccessible to the general public – whether because of safety precautions, limited opening hours or for any other reason – can now be visited 24/7 in all their glory.
